2004 Men's Collegiate Select Side Coaching Information

The Florida Rugby Union is currently accepting applications for the 2004 Men’s Collegiate Select Side head coaching position.

The select-side coach is responsible for the organization of the Select-side team. This includes player selection process, choosing assistants, coaching, scheduling games and practices.

The goal of the select-side coach is to improve the level of play of the players involved and to provide ample opportunity employing a variety of methods for players to be observed for select-side play.

• The term of the coach is for two years.

To be appointed to a Select Side coach position the following process must take place:

• Meet Minimum requirements for the position (see below)
• Must be a US Citizen or have fully complied with US Immigration requirements / have a valid working visa.
• Submit an application to FRU VP Michael Lane of (mikelane@sport-scan.com)
• Be approved by a majority vote of the Board of Officers of the Florida Rugby Union.

All the applications received are reviewed by the Board. The VP will then make a recommendation to the Board. The Board has three options, accept that recommendation, choose one of the other applicants or extend the application period to increase the pool of qualified entries.

Position requirements

Each applicant must have a minimum of a Level I USARFU coaching certificate. It is strongly encouraged to also have a Level II qualification. Current coaching experience will also be considered relevant.
