Question on iRB Ruling 1 & 2 of 2010
Question. Does the tackler who is on his feet after the tackle (which he is now not considered a tackler????) have to release the player and ball and enter from his own side?
Answer to the question is “Yes”
Law 15 6 c says they have to be on their own side, ie behind the ball and from directly behind the tackled player. So you have to read the two law sections in conjunction with each other. You can play the ball according to law 15 6 b providing you also meet the requirements of law 15 6 c.
