SRHS Womens 7′s
It is Confirmed. Sebastian River High School will be holding the first annual women’s Sevens tournament on May 8th at SRHS. I would like to open this event to all women’s teams in the State:
High School ( SRHS, Jupiter, Taravella, Lely, Brevard and Lakeland if they have a team) – please let me know of others that I may have missed. I would also like to have compilation teams if you have enough numbers
College / university – I am not sure who has players, but those of you on this email chain will know
Women’s – FLL, Miami, Daytona, Jax, Naples.
I have access to two fields – Stadium and another field and they are being lined and will have posts. I would propose that the event take place all day so as to accommodate as many games as possible.
As you all know we can through Scots American travel advisors arrange accommodation for teams visiting from far away.
I want to make sure that this event runs smoothly and would like to have some commitment as soon as possible as we have to schedule accordingly.
In order to host this event I have to pay for the facilities and ref’s and therefore need to charge a nominal entry fee to cover the costs (unless the FRU is ready to financially support a Women’s only event!!!!!!!!!!). I propose that there is a $75.00 entry fee for all teams. As this is being held at the school there will be no cash prizes, but there will be prizes for champions etc.
It is my vision that this event becomes the first of the seven’s season and a flagship for Women’s rugby not only in Florida, but perhaps the South.
Please let me know as soon as you can by Friday 19th if at all possible if you would be interested in attending as I only have 6 weeks to get this all set up.
