FLORIDA THUNDER IN CHARLOTTE
Congratulation to the Boys and Girls who repsensented Florida at the Charlotte Youth Festival last weekend.
Florida U19 boys placed second losing the final to a very strong NC home team.
Florida U19 girls we’re similarly successful, placing second.
A more detailed report will follow.
This was a land mark event for Florida being the first time we have sent Florida AllStar teams out of state to an event.
The FRU would like to congratulate all the players as well as the organizers, Tom Grey of the Rugby Academy of Florida who organized the whole show under contrcat to the FRU. To all the Coach’s, Dr. Sean for giving his time to support the teams and look after the players.
12 players (6 boys, 6 girls) we’re scouted by USAR for inclusion in future USAR camps, as we’ll as Life University approacing 4 players with potential scolarships. great stuff.
The FRU plans to enter again next year and include Boys U17 as well.
Next event is October 25th vs Pembrokeshire District from Wales.
